We are based in Melbourne and proudly service our clients throughout the state of Victoria. With over 25 years experience in the Wedding and Event Industry, we provide end to end solutions and add the "WOW FACTOR" to any event or function.

How We Started

The owner, Yelka, had a dream that she was organising a function and couldn't get anyone interested enough in what she wanted. She travelled all over Victoria to get bits and pieces to put her function together. At the end of it she was exausted and fell asleep and couldn't even remember how it went. This started the idea of Elegant Occasions - where you can organise absolutely everything you need for your function under one roof.

Let Elegant Occasions take the worry out of organising your next function. A very unique type of business, we can co-ordinate and manage any function. We do everything from invitations, cakes, flowers, decor, personalised gifts, chaircovers, centrepieces and special effects.

Visit our showroom where our staff will guide you through many portfolios of our magnificent work while you are enjoying a coffee and a slice of our delicious cake or a chocolate. As a preferred supplier to many reception venues as well corporate clients including government departments, we have over 28 years experience and expertise in the function industry. We regularly attend conventions around Australia and overseas for new ideas and concepts. This shows in the numerous awards we have won in the bridal industry as well as the Australian Achiever Awards.

Yelka was a trained nurse/midwife and started cake decorating and flower arranging as hobbies doing flowers and cakes for family, friends and friends of friends. Yelka found she enjoyed the creativity involved and undertook further studies. Following her divorce 18 years ago Yelka found it very hard to get babysitters with the shifts involved with nursing. She decided to pursue her creative career and now runs a successful business which covers all aspects of organizing functions and weddings. The business has a list of clients including; Motorola; Horseland; Miss Universe Australia (Cosmopolitan models); Parliament House Melbourne as well as numerous wedding couples and Reception Venues

Laura - Function Designer/Consultant

Laura has been with Elegant Occasions for 12 years while studying Criminology and Sociology at University. She has decorated and designed many functions and weddings. She loves the creative outlet with designing of events. The best part about working with Elegant Occasions is "hearing the satisfaction and gratification of happy customers and seeing the transformation we are able to achieve with our skills".

Wendy has been with Elegant Occasions since October 2010. Wendy brings to the business a vast knowledge of account keeping and business management.

These guys and gals don't want to be named but without them we would be in a lot of trouble. They work tirelessly to make sure we always look neat and tidy and have no holes or gaps. They often work through the night to make sure everything is up to date. Our nickname for them is "Fairies". We can leave the place very untidy at the end of the busy day and when we come back in the morning the " FAIRIES" have been and cleaned up all our messes."

As you can see every member of our team has a very important role to play to make your function complete and successful. Luckily we are all a "Happy Family" and all work well together with no hesitation in changing roles or responsibilities.
